Paloma

O Paloma, my darling, dear Paloma
I’ve got the world to show ye
So the captain fell in love with a lady like a dove
He said of all the worldly seas of blue
I’ve never found a woman quite like you
With your waves of flowing hair and your sense of justice fair
My love anywhere you wish to go I’ll take you there
Stay on my shore, stay on my shore
Dear captain you can stay forevermore
For this land, it is my home
It’s the only one I’ve ever known
I was born here Now I’m fully grown
But I don’t think I’d like to face this world alone
O my lady O my love
O my woman like a dove
I’ve sailed from sea to shore
And now i do implore
We can’t stay for longer more
For I’ve seen rivers growing wide
From falling ice and rising tide
Choose whatever but with you I will reside
Dear Captain how can you see
That this land is steeped in storied memory?
But if it must be I will rise
I’ll rise side along the sea

Orange Tree
03:24
|
|||
Bright citrus of my memory
Days of old beneath the orange tree
Decades of facets that we found
Top tiger tail this hillside round
If I could plant seed for flowering branch
I’d broadcast over seas wherever I’d chance
So I could see the orange tree dance
Feel its juice run sweet down my hands at long last
Its fruit that grounds us to this life
Through seasons that hold transcendence and strife
Weaving bright light bright sunglobes of gold
With the fragrance that peace and tranquility hold
Now its branches sway through night and through day
Carry its essence much farther away
By blow of the breeze though we’re far apart
Citrus carries the sun to my mind and my heart

She Becomes Time
05:26
|
|||
She becomes time time again
Cycled water wind and stone
Embodied fire carbon bone
Salt smoke and time convene where the river loves the sea
For that is where i long to be, that’s where I long to be
She becomes time time again
Collecting maps, memories, and fragments of mountain
With broadlight and gesture like the wind that blows westward
I reach for infinity, ancient time looks back at me as mirror of connectivity
She becomes time time again
Cycled water wind and stone
Embodied fire carbon bone
By storm by rain by song and refrain
Sure as whistle of her wind knows no bounds
She rises like the clouds
She becomes time time again
Cycled water wind and stone
Embodied fire carbon bone
Down the cosmic stream
This river’s ancient dream
The patterns of the earth
Recycled rebirth

Marigold Memory
02:58
|
|||
Marigold of all marigolds
Marigold of the world
Weave light of our days to tapestry
And glow as you’ve foretold
For I’ve bouquet of wildflower, I’ve bouquet of sage
You’ve got thyme, rosemary, twine you’ve strung throughout your days
Gather round the hillside now, gather at the dawn
Awake with birds and wildthings, awake with bear and fawn
String light where you will
at crystal fountain we’ll fill
The oak and hills grow wiser still
Aglow in marigold memory
Marigold memory
That million yeard reverie
Of life that’s been pressed upon layer by layer
From tongues of both native and ancestral prayer
Its songs of golden memory
Its songs of marigold
The songs we sang amongst the trees
the stories that we told
It’s there I planted wildflower, there I planted sage
Its there we gathered verse and rhyme throughout the golden days
